Where are you located?
4701 College Blvd Suite 103 is located at the southwest corner of College and Roe in Leawood, Kansas. It is the Corporate Manor building which is anchored by Southern Bank. Park in the front (northeast) corner near the bank, and enter the main doors. (The men’s bathroom is immediately to right, and the women’s bathroom is immediately to left) After you walk into the building, continue straight down the leftmost hallway and Suite 103 is the last door on the left. The sign says “Three Bluebirds Therapy & Wellness.” Come on in and have a seat if you don’t see me! (Visit Massage Refuge KC on Facebook or Instagram for detailed pictures.)
How should I book with you ?
Please text for an appointment, or book online. Online booking software isn’t always an accurate representation of what I have available, so if you are looking for a massage on a certain day and you don’t see a time listed, please text and ask!
How early should I show up /what if I’m late?
Please arrive at my office about 5 minutes before your scheduled time. Services end at the scheduled time, so the service will be cut short if you are late.
What type of massage do you do?
I use my intuition, palpation skills, and a variety of massage techniques, to create a massage that is best suited towards what you need that day. I don’t charge differently for more detailed therapeutic work than I do for a more relaxing, lighter pressure massage, and we will talk about what you’d like when you arrive for your appointment.
“Deep Tissue” means something different to everyone. So that we’re on the same page, I typically do most of your massage with your overall favorite pressure,(light/medium/firm), but use deep tissue techniques on the specific muscles that need the work done. If you need deep tissue work to several areas of the body, it is best if you get a longer service, as working into the deep layers of the muscle can take time. Another option is to get a shorter service and focusing the massage on the problem region, skipping areas that may not be bothering you, like the scalp or arms, for example.
Can you clarify how gift cards work?
There are no physical gift cards. When you purchase a gift card, you will receive it in an email. The gift card contains a code, and that code is entered during the check out process. You can print a paper gift card. I had to create the gift card selection, so I have created the most popular choices. If you do not see what you were hoping to buy, email or text the phone number listed and I can create the gift card you would like to buy! I have the most popular gift cards listed according to massage length, but technically when the client is ready to redeem it, they can apply it to any service. They will just have to pay the difference if they use it for a longer massage. Gift cards expire after 5 years. They also can only pay for the service itself, not the gratuity.
What do I need to know about prenatal massages?
Please let me know how far along you are on the intake form that gets filled out during the booking process. Clients beyond about 14 weeks will lay in a side-lying position. (That is where you lay on your side with a pillow under your head and a body pillow between your knees and under your arm.) Clients who are high-risk need to be given clearance from their doctor.
