How should I book with you ?
Please text for an appointment, or book online. Online booking software isn’t always an accurate representation of what I have available, so if you are looking for a massage on a certain day and you don’t see a time listed, please text and ask!
How early should I show up /what if I’m late?
Please arrive at my office about 5 minutes before your scheduled time. Services end at the scheduled time, so the service will be cut short if you are late.
What type of massage do you do?
I use my intuition, palpation skills, and a variety of massage techniques, to create a massage that is best suited towards what you need that day. I don’t charge differently for more detailed therapeutic work than I do for a more relaxing, lighter pressure massage, and we will talk about what you’d like when you arrive for your appointment.
“Deep Tissue” means something different to everyone. So that we’re on the same page, I typically do most of your massage with your overall favorite pressure,(light/medium/firm), but use deep tissue techniques on the specific muscles that need the work done. If you need deep tissue work to several areas of the body, it is best if you get a longer service, as working into the deep layers of the muscle can take time. Another option is to get a shorter service and focusing the massage on the problem region, skipping areas that may not be bothering you, like the scalp or arms, for example.
Can you clarify how gift cards work?
Gift certificates are sold online. When you purchase it, you will receive it in an email, in the form of a code. You can present that code to the recipient in any way you choose. You have the option to print something out, you can forward them your email, you can write down the code for them in whatever creative way you choose.
I do have an official Massage Refuge paper gift certificate if you would like to present it that way. Text or email me if you would like to arrange to get a physical, paper gift certificate. We can arrange a pick up time during my business hours, or I can mail it to you.
If you do not see the dollar amount for what you were hoping to buy, email or text me and I can create a certificate in any dollar amount for you. I will email you a link so you can purchase it online!
When the client is ready to redeem their gift certificate, they can apply that dollar amount to any length of service.
Gift certificates expire after 5 years, and are transferable but not refundable.

What do I need to know about prenatal massages?
Please let me know how far along you are on the intake form that gets filled out during the booking process. Clients beyond about 14 weeks will lay in a side-lying position. (That is where you lay on your side with a pillow under your head and a body pillow between your knees and under your arm.) Clients who are high-risk need to be given clearance from their doctor.
